House of Representatives Candidate for Murray, VIC
Yasmin Gunasekera was born in the Wimmera at Nhill, in western Victoria, being a third Generation Australian. Her family moved to Chadstone, Melbourne, when she was at a young age, after which she was schooled at Kilvington Girls Baptist Grammar.
Yasmin has a vivacious outgoing personality and relates to people well. She has work experience in the Retail Trade, Hospitality Industry, Real Estate Market, Banking Sector & was recently involved with the Energy Industry. As an Independent Business Consultant she has assisted several Companies in trouble shooting, customer service, recruitment, training, motivation & management; including a short stint in Hollywood within the Music Industry.
Yasmin has contested several Elections including two Federal Elections. She has also been active in assisting an Upper House Candidate and Lower House Candidates in the Victorian State Election, whilst standing in a seat of her own at the time.
Yasmin has great organizational skills and having co-ordinating all the State and Territory Presidents for Rise Up Australia Party in the 2013 Federal Election and is currently preparation for the upcoming Election.
Yasmin is happily married to Rajeev and they have two children and two grand-children. She believes that families are the basis of our society and that family should look after and care for their members. This is why although she has a full work load and many commitments she has chosen to be a carer for her ailing elderly widowed father.
She says, “I’m very excited about assisting Rise Up Australia Party, President Daniel Nalliah, and his team, to contest with this Election. I am grateful for the opportunity.”
Yasmin will be standing in the Electorate of Murray for the July 2nd Federal Election.
Her Political statement is as follows:
“I am contesting this election because I believe in the Judeo Christian Values this nation was founded on; my desire is to be instrumental in bringing back accountability, honesty, sound policies and justice for all people regardless of ethnicity, religion, gender, or social standing.
I am standing in this election for the country people of Australia to see that they have a fair hearing and the same facilities, benefits and rights as their city cousins”.
